Unmasking the Process for College Preparation

Applying to college is not a process you undertake alone, but there are resources built to ensure your success. In this session, we explore how to pick the right classes in high school to be prepared for college and position yourself well for scholarships, how to access statewide resources in standardized testing for the SAT and ACT, and how to apply to colleges outside of your comfort zone.

High School and College Planning: Advocating for Your Education
LOCATION: HWAC 354
In Advocating for Your Education, we discuss opportunities available to you in high school and in college to create the educational experience you want. Topics include clubs; intramurals; planning ahead to graduate on time; academic and professional advisors; balancing responsibilities (i.e., work and school); and extracurricular opportunities such as Black Student Unions/Associations.
Transitioning from College to Career: Looking for a Great Career, Job Search/Résumé

Learn job skills to succeed in today’s competitive market. Get started with tips on the basics of personal presentation and crafting your résumé.
